This was a fun shoot. I got to photograph the five musicians of the
at the Minneapolis Central Library on Nicolet Ave. Allison, one of the trumpet players, found the Library and suggested it for the shoot. It was a great choice. The library is loaded with windows and lots of interesting backgrounds. Thanks Allison!
We call this pose "St. Olaf Style." All you Oles out there get it.
I promised I'd post a sneak peak for them. It was hard to pick my favorites; there were so many. Here are a few of the headshots I took.
These were my favorite. We used this great frosted glass wall to make the rest of the quintet a background for a series of portraits.
Not only are the CSBQ members fantastic musicians, they are also a really fun people. I had a great time photographing them. Visit their website at Copper Street Brass Quintet. (Check it out right now but also be sure you check it out later when the photos from this shoot are up!)
Next time you need musicians, keep these guys in mind.
