Itasca State Park

Every year Jenn and I go on a trip with our friends to some state park around Minnesota. It's a good time to get together, have fun and do pretty much whatever we want. For us that means playing with our cameras and assorted toys. We got some great shots on our hikes through beautiful Lake Itasca State Park, headwaters of the Mississippi River. Our campsite was an excluded area on the lakeshore with great views of the sunrise and night sky. The only thing I regret about the camping weekend was that it was too short. I'm looking forward to having more time to play with the camera on our upcoming vacations. Next week, the cabin on Leech Lake. In September we'll be posting photos from the 2nd Annual "Guy's Photography Weekend" at the St. Croix bluffs. This is what summer is all about...well, this and barbecue...and golf...and watermelon...and fireflies.

Colorful dragonflies were doing us the favor of feasting on the Minnesota state bird (the mosquito) before they feasted on us.
