Every year we have a group of guys gather to spend a week in some natural area around Minnesota to take photos. Due to busy schedules we weren't able to get out until the end of October, and everything in MN was closed down by then so we had to look to WI. We stayed at a place called
Christmas Mountain Village...and even though the name is pretty lame it was a very nice resort. When most people think of Wisconsin Dells they think of waterparks, but there's actually a good number of state parks and natural areas around there. It's a good thing too, because the 4 of us in bathing suits is a truly frightening thing to behold, but if you ever find yourself in WI there are things you don't want to miss...
Make sure to go to
Devils Lake State Park for great hiking and beautiful scenery, and if you're on I-90 driving past Tomah, WI you absolutely have to stop at
Humbird Cheese...the 3 year cheddar is one of the best cheeses I have ever had (and being a Cheesebrow that's saying something).
All in all a fun trip; plenty of hiking, cooking, and playing with cameras. The perfect vacation.
Tim, I think you posted as Jenn again.
