Val's Day!

Tim and I have a friend who was born on Valentine's Day. Her name is (wait for it...) Val. Val is great she teaches middle school science and is a really genuine person. Val mentioned about a week ago that she doesn't often have birthday parties because people are generally too busy celebrating Valentine's Day instead of Val's day. Tim and I don't much buy into Valentine's day and thought a birthday party sounded like a lot more fun than fight in the crowds at some restaurant. It was a blast! I made my first angel food cake and borrowed my Grandma Carole's heirloom-copper-heart-shaped-angel-food-cake-pan. Plus Grandma gave me her recipe for angel food frosting (vanilla pudding mix, cool whip, and a can of pineapple tidbits). She is so sweet she even gave me all the ingredients! Here is how the cake turned out.
